The Ea t Choir performan es are spectacular. They make you laugh, cry, and
leave you in awe of what you just heard . Performan e. are important, but they
are definitely not all of what Ea-.t Choir has to offer. In fact, they are only a
small part of the elective. Most of a choir member' time i. dedicated to creating
auditory masterpiece . With the help and guidance of Mr. Taylor, a longstanding member of East High chool. or M . Knack, who joined the East
community this year, students from every grade and background commit hour
upon hour to perfecting harmonies, learning melodie'>, and practtcmg the
occasional dance move. Just ask any tudent who belong'> to one of the eight
choirs. from Beginning Women's to ngelaires to Go pel, and the. will tell you
the same thing: inging isn ' t ea!>y. s A\a Holle. a enior in Hon rs Choir and
ngelaires <>ays, " othing is effortles<> while performing. It just look. that way. "
Despite the tirele hard work required , or maybe because of it, the East Choir i
one of the mo t gratifying communi tie to be a part of. The . aying "you put in
what you get out" i · obvious in all facets of choir, inc luding the performances
and the relationship . The 2016-2017 Ea t Choir continued our school ' tradition
of dedication and true to e of the arts, a tradition that will hopefully continue for
decades to come.

Perse'verance is a skill that may never be acquired

Cheerleading
When mo t people think of cheerleading, they
picture the p ppy uniform , wild porn porn , and
energeti girl yelling to the crowd t "Give me
an E!" But there i a lot more to the ·e girl than
meet the eye. The} ha e great pirit (of cour e),
incredible teamwork, and a rounding dedication.
Teamwork i a main element that hold thi
quad together. Without the lo e for one another
that the e girl have, they would not be able to
pull ff the incredible trick and performance
th y d at every p rting e ent an pirit day. A
Hail y H utenbrink explain , "My fa orite part
ab ut cheerleading i my teammate and how
welcoming and upportive they are. We all fall
ometime but having omeone there to help you
and be upp rtive of you i really ni e."
In additi n t alway ha ing each other back
and ne er letting each other fall, the e girl all
ha e a rounding determination. tarting in the
fall and la ting throughout the entire year, the
cheerleader are dedicated to performing at e ery
p rting e ent and never fail to mi a fo tball or
ba ketball gam . JV Captain, Dondriah Loggin Lewi di u e her goal for thi pa t ea on,
"My goal wa to be remembered and ju t put a
mile on people' face and not gi e up."
The e girl make up one of the mo t team
oriented, pirited, and dedicated group of
individual in all of Ea tHigh ch ol.
